“The race was quite hectic because it was a technical parcour, so the team had the job to surround me. They kept me safe in the front of the peloton. Suzanne and Fien made sure that no attacks could escape. Kirstie, Lotte helped a lot as well and did a great job! Our plan was to pull up a train for the final, Christina and Laura brought me in a good position to sprint. Everyone raced very active, gave their all, I am proud of my teammates. Of course, we improve race by race, we gain experience, but in Trofee Maarten Wynants we made a big step! I will focus now on the one-day-race at first in Belgium, in combination with some quality training at my home in Tirol, Austria. The trust in my sprinting ability is becoming better and I know where I have some work to do. The Austrian Cycling Federation selected me for the European Games this June in Minsk, Belarus. Next to great chances coming up with Health Mate Ladies Team, this motivates me a lot!” – Kathrin Schweinberger.
